Kelly’s of Cornwall is looking for a family to star in its new television advertisement. If you and your family live and love everything Cornish, you could be on television this Summer!

Kelly’s is searching for a family of children, parents and grandparents, to star in the new advertisement, being filmed in Cornwall in April. The winning Kelly’s family will also be given a year’s supply of Kelly’s ice cream.

If you and your family would like the opportunity to appear in the new Kelly’s advertisement, you’ll need to submit a photo of your family members and three reasons why you ’live and love’ everything Cornish. Terms and conditions apply.

The new Kelly’s Of Cornwall TV advertising campaign will air first on 20th May.

To enter:

To apply for the role of the Kelly’s Family you need to:

Have three generations of your family keen to appear in the advertisement (children, parents & grandparents)
All live in Cornwall
Be free between the 15th and 31st of April for filming in Cornwall (we should refine the dates)

If you meet the above criteria please send:

Name, telephone and email address
A group photograph of you and your family members and also individual pictures of each family member
A short home movie of your family and/or a short film of your family eating ice cream (if you wish to)
Details of each family member including names, ages and relationships to each other
Confirmation that you all live in Cornwall and that the whole family would be happy to be filmed

Terms and Conditions:

This is a ‘search’ for the Kelly’s family, whilst best practice and all reasonable endeavors will be up held to find our potential Kelly’s family through our search model we reserve the right to also utilise the services of other casting operations.
Shoot dates may be subject to change.
We reserve the right to change our cast at any point.
We reserve the right to cast various generations from different families.
Applicants must not:

have a criminal record, nor a CCJ nor be under investigation for any criminal offence;
currently be or have ever been declared bankrupt;
have a history of, nor, abuse alcohol.
have been convicted of, nor been under investigation for, any drug and/or sex related and/or alcohol and/or violence offences;

At no time during any use period will you be the subject of any adverse publicity which might be detrimental to the image or reputation of [Kelly’s] (the “Client”), its products or services, the Kelly’s television advertisement (the “Production”) and/or Rogue Films Ltd and Devilfish Creative (the “Company”)
You shall not at any time do anything detrimental to or say anything detrimental about the Client, its products or services, the Production and/or the Company nor must you have appeared in any recorded TV or radio programme or mentioned in the press or PR anything that would prejudice the Production, Client and/or Company.
Applicants shall not behave in any way that may be an embarrassment to or damage the reputation of the Client, its products or services, the Production and/or the Company.
There are no other facts or circumstances, past or present, which are likely to discredit or damage the reputation of the Client, its products or services, the Production and/or the Company in any way including without limitation in respect of the advertisement(s) in which you are to appear.
Not now, nor have you at any time been, subject to or suffering from any disability, physical or mental ailment, injury, illness, impairment or the like (“Disability”) which will or may in any way prevent you from rendering being a featured artist in a TVC (the “Services”) hereunder and that you will at all times do all that is reasonably proper and necessary to maintain a sound state of health as will enable you to fully perform the services required by the Company, and that upon becoming aware of any Disability which may affect your ability to perform the Services will immediately inform us.
You confirm that you have not appeared in any other media related projects.
By confirming to contribute to or participate in the recording as agreed with Devilfish Creative or Rogue or R&R Ice Cream plc you will agree to and hereby give all consents and permissions and grant any licence that may be required under any legislation or regulation to permit your contribution / performance to be used in whole or in part in any manner by devilfish creative or Rogue or R&R Ice Cream plc in all media world- wide without restriction.
You acknowledge that in the performance of the Services you may be exposed to information about the Client and the Company which is confidential or is commercially sensitive and which may not be readily available to others which if disclosed may cause irreparable damage to the Client and the Company. You therefore agree that from commencement of the Services without limit in time to not use or divulge or communicate to any person, firm, company or organisation any confidential information or information acquired or discovered by you in the course of performing the Services.
You acknowledge that you shall not receive any compensation /payment as a result of services provided by you.

We had a huge response to our challenge to find the perfect pudding to go with our delicious Kelly’s ice cream!

The quality of recipes we received was extremely high but we finally managed to pick a winner. We would like to congratulate Hayley from Hertfordshire on her amazing recipe which will feature on our website very soon. We will keep be unveiling the winning recipe in all its glory in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled!

We’re Back on TV!

We’re really excited to tell you that Kelly’s is back on TV!

This summer we are supporting Kelly’s with a fully integrated marketing campaign which kicks off with TV advertising on the 24th May, running to the 23rd June. To support this we will also have print adverts in the monthly glossy magazines and various weekend supplements. Advertorials will be running throughout June and July, with digital advertising completing the activity.

Do Easter or Mother’s Day, the ice cream way!

Kelly’s of Cornwall is the perfect ice cream for special days such as Easter and Mother’s Day, when only the best will do. Treat you and your family to a delicious dessert or an indulgent teatime treat. Why not try making some delicious shortbread served with a generous scoop of Kelly’s of Cornwall Clotted Cream & Blackcurrant Ice Cream? Here’s a favourite recipe from the Kelly’s team:

Kelly’s Blackcurrant Ice Cream and Shortbread Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients

125g/4oz butter
55g/2oz caster sugar
180g/6oz plain flour
Kelly’s Clotted Cream & Blackcurrant Ice Cream

Method

Heat the oven to 190C/375F/Gas 5.
Beat the butter and the sugar together until smooth.
Stir in the flour to get a smooth paste. Turn on to a work surface and gently roll out until the paste is 1cm/inch thick.
Cut into rounds or fingers and place onto a baking tray. Sprinkle with icing sugar and chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until pale golden-brown. Set aside to cool on a wire rack.
Serve with scoops of delicious Kelly’s Clotted Cream & Blackcurrants ice cream

We are very proud of our ice cream and people have enjoyed eating it for over one hundred years.

Kelly’s ice cream is made using only the finest ingredients, the main one being the rich Cornish clotted cream and Cornish whole milk. It is the combination of Cornish clotted cream and Cornish whole milk that gives our ice cream the wonderfully smooth, velvety texture that you won’t find in other ice cream.

This indulgent clotted cream and whole milk is combined with natural colours and flavours to create English inspired ice cream flavours that people have come to know and continued to love.

Our clotted cream and whole milk is supplied by Trewithen Dairy who have 20 farms located within 22 miles of our factory in Bodmin. You can find some of the farmers on our site.

Where does clotted cream come from?

Even though clotted cream is a much-desired product nowadays, it was originally made by farmers because they wanted less waste from their milk. Due to the lack of definite origin for clotted cream, there’s a fair amount of rivalry between Devon and Cornwall about who makes the best! Of course, here at Kelly’s, we think Cornish clotted cream is by far the greatest. But it seems the first evidence of clotted cream being made, all the way back in the 1300s, is by the monks at Tavistock Abbey in Devon.

In around the 1800s, it was discovered that making clotted cream actually produced more cream than other methods. So, instead of making butter using milk or churning cream, people actually used clotted cream, resulting in butter which lasted even longer.

Cornish clotted cream is among the most famous, particularly as it was given Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status back in 1998. That means only milk produced in Cornwall with at least 55% fat content can be called Cornish clotted cream, making it a very special product indeed and very important to our ice cream!
