This delicious traditional British treat tastes delicious served alongside Kelly’s ice cream
8 slices bread
50g/2oz sultanas/ mixed fruit
50ml/2floz double cream
25g/1oz demerera sugar
First, grease a 2-pint/1L pie dish
Cut the crusts off all the bread and butter one side of it
Cut the bread into triangles and arrange a layer of it in the dish, before adding a layer of sultanas, and sprinkling it with sugar and cinnamon. Just keep repeating the layering process until the bread is used up.
Whisk the milk, cream and eggs together and gently pour the mixture over the bread. Sprinkle a little sugar on top.
Leave the pudding to stand for 30mins before placing it in a pre-heated oven at 180C/355F/gas 4 for approx 30 minutes or until golden brown.
This pudding is the perfect accompaniment to Kelly’s Clotted Cream ice cream.
